The start of another new blog....only to be abandoned? I hope not!
I've had this domain for some time, wondering what to do with it. StarSpun, has always been the name of every project I've ever gotten into....first web hosting and design, then photography, followed by homemade jewelry, and finally, my cosmetic line. StarSpun.com sat empty, waiting to be the gateway to all that was in my life....from my projects to my adventures. But now, it has a true purpose!
When I saw the StarSpun (currently known as Toy Yot), I knew it was the one for us. I've had feelings about things in the past, certain instincts and draws. I haven't been wrong yet. We were in Florida at the time on our RV, Trudy. As always, the call of the water/sea was there in the back of my mind. I was practically brought up on the water....my family being powerboaters. From there it extended to my obsession with sealife and swimming. I was nicknamed 'the fish'. I believe I could swim better than I could walk!
For years after my parents sold the last of three cruisers, I felt as though I was missing something. When Bryan and I were hit with the travel bug, the first thought was A BOAT! But we opted for RV at the time for a few reasons, one of them being the freedom and ease at which we could travel and explore. My on and off search and infactuation with getting a boat and being on the water again ended with StarSpun:-)
And with that the adventures begin, as does this blog. I will try my hardest to blog about our adventures on her. Knowing nothing about sailing, we are pitiful newbs....but the StarSpun is forgiving and kind....I think it has something to do with all the mods and attention we have been giving her! A lady DOES like to be spoiled and beautified, no?
To be on the water again is the next chapter. For now, we explore the Toronto Island area in Lake Ontario. We hope to get up into the Trent Severn, my childhood stomping grounds, later this year as well. After that? We are toying with the idea of taking the boat down to Florida in place of the RV this winter....I can only imagine how awesome it would be to sail in the Keys!
Let the adventure begin....
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
